Interim Report -- Living Room Edition

The furniture hasn't been rearranged yet (and the slipcovers bothered my allergies too much, even after several launderings, so I'm back to square one on getting the furniture to look the way I want it) BUT I don't know when last I saw this room so tidy!!!  Just had to share!

Be sure to click on the picture to enlarge it. The hard plastic thing over the carpet (and the white duct tape) will be going -- they were there because Dad had very shaky hands, and spilled a lot.

Also, in trying to get a bit of a California/Zen vibe going, I've tried a couple of things. Here are close-ups of the coffee table, and the new tables/plant stands:

The large stones have words on them. See? (You'll have to enlarge the pic to see them properly.)

I'm starting to get a "peaceful easy feeling" from this room...

  1. Too bad the slipcovers didn't work. Bummer.

But your livingroom looks so nice, it really looks clean and fresh. And I love the rocks, bit of a zen vibe.

  2. it is a shame about the slipcovers. Would you be able to rent a steam cleaner to clean the cream one?
Also, do you have a plan to change the upholstery on the dining room chairs? That might be an easy want to add to that zen beachy feel (love the wood of the dining room set).

  3. What a shame about the slip covers.

Nonetheless, it is an amazing transformation. Very peaceful. Very Zen. Love the rocks.--and the statue behind them. So graceful.
