Remembering Robert Goulet

Three years ago today, October 30, 2007, Robert Goulet died. His widow, Vera, and many people around the world, are remembering him.

I first heard that glorious voice on CBC radio, singing "If Ever I Would Leave You" -- his signature song, from Camelot.

Thank you, Robert. Your rich voice, your smile, enhanced our lives.

  1. He did have a gorgeous voice, but I never liked his character in Camelot just because of that "C'est Moi!" song. This is a beauty though.

  2. Anne -- yes, "C'est Moi!" is an incredibly arrogant song. I generally skip it when I listen to the soundtrack of Camelot. I can close it out of my mind when I think about Lancelot, for the most part. (How I wish I could have seen the stage production of Camelot, with Julie, Robert and the other guy. LOL. Richard Burton.) "If Ever I Would Leave You" sung by Robert Goulet is one of my favorite songs of all time.

  5. I had to go listen to the Camelot soundtrack after that! He did have a lovely voice, and I forgot how much I love You May Take me To The Fair, too. She was really something else as Guinevere.
