I started the year by having breakfast by candle -- and 'star' -- light.
I hope, in the coming year, to be here more regularly (although my main focus in life will be my writing, and my main focus in blogging will be my new writing blog, as yet still a work in progress). I intend to get the sorting and organizing project finally completed so that it no longer hangs over my head, and so that I finally am able to experience the "Serenity at Home" that was my goal when I started this blog several years ago. I look forward to a year filled with friendship, love, growth (personal and spiritual, but not physical), furthering my career as a writer, and experiencing new things with a spirit of adventure.
In one of A.A. Milne's stories about Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends-and-relations, Pooh asked Piglet what he thought first thing in the morning. I'm going to try to make Piglet's answer my mantra in 2012:
"I wonder what exciting will happen today?"
May 2012 be good to you and yours.
Oh, I love that mantra! Happy New Year, I'm sure lots of exciting things will happen in year 2012.
ReplyDeleteI certainly hope you keep blogging, as a hobby, like the rest of us. I've enjoyed your posts a lot. I must stray to your writing blog from time to time too.
happy 2012 to you too! I share many of your goals for the year...
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, to you too! So what exciting thing happened to you today?
ReplyDeleteFor me, it is simply the "newness" of the day. The sunshine. Making a pot of hearty bean and vegetable soup. This is the day I say "I will."
What a great day!
Happy new year! Sounds like a plan!
ReplyDeleteHappy, happy, new year! Love your blog!
ReplyDeleteLeena -- thank you! I hope your year is wonderful for you, as well. I'll post a link to my new writing blog as soon as it's up and running.
ReplyDeleteColleen -- We can encourage each other as we work toward our goals. Read your post last night.
Person who is really Alana, not Emma -- That bean and veg soup sounds good. Is there any left? I love your take on the day. My "exciting" thing was watching the Vienna Philharmonic New Year's Concert, and delighting in the music, and in Julie's hosting segments.
Christine -- I certainly hope that 2012 is better for you than the end of 2011 was! No more falls, okay?
Brian -- Happy happy new year to you, my friend! Thank you!
SCB, I love your new mantra and hope that you achieve all of your goals in the new year! I hope this new year brings all of the things you have been hoping for and I look forward to reading more from you on both blogs!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
