The entryway closet is in good shape.
For those of you who were with me through various iterations of Wardrobe Therapy, when I usually had 3 pairs of pants and a few tops to my name, the next picture will likely shock you.
My bedroom closet is organized, but rather full.
I assure you that those are all clothes that I, SCB, own. They currently fit. They are in use. They are not theatrical props. There is also a small suitcase filled with winter tops, and various other winter clothes in a dresser drawer. Clothes that are the next size down from my current size fill another dresser drawer.
For those wardrobe-etiquette mavens among you, I assure you that as soon as possible, the white pants will be moved to another closet. I intend to make the Writing Room closet the repository for off-season clothes. That hinges on readying the Writing Room closet to receive them.
It's not quite ready for prime time. The laundry hamper/baskets currently live here (this is not where they will reside permanently), as does Mum's walker. The way the walker is tucked in precludes closing one side of the folding door. This closet needs decluttering.
However, that hinges on the BIG PROJECT OF THE WINTER. Finishing the sorting, shredding, organizing of the Storage Room. Eventually, the laundry baskets will live on top of the dresser that's in the storage room. A great deal must be done before that's even remotely possible.
I believe the phrase that's appropriate here is "I have my work cut out for me." It will have to happen baby step by baby step, however. My main work, my writing, has to take priority. But it will get done. I'm determined about that.
Stay tuned.
(Thanks, ICHC!)

I am thrilled you actually have enough clothes to fill a closet! I hope to get there someday. (Actually, right now? I have 3 pairs of capris I can wear and 2 pairs of jeans. It's craziness, having to make these choices every morning!)
ReplyDeleteI will stay tuned! There's nothing like a watching a good decluttering!
I can't believe this is the same woman and her closet of years ago! Look at all those clothes! Stunning.
ReplyDeleteAnd I thought I did not have much clothes. I think it's important to have nice clothes that you feel good in, good that you've got more now than I hear you had earlier.
ReplyDeleteHave you thought of adding extra shelf on top of the shelf in the wardrobes. It looks to me there is a lot of potential storage space in there.
Onshore has a good point, we have a second shelf up top in our closets and it is great for luggage and bags and out-of-season things. They free u p a lot of space lower down for things that need to be more accessible...
ReplyDeleteAnd yay, clothes! That's what I like to see!
I've been meaning to pass this on, I bookmarked it thinking of you:

And good luck on that Storage Room!
Thanks to all!
ReplyDeleteThere really isn't room above the shelf that's already in the closet (our ceilings are rather low), but thanks for the suggestion.
Anne -- for some reason, both your comments were languishing "awaiting moderation". Sorry! Loved that look back through time at Julie's wardrobe decisions!
